Financial
support from the EU (or formally the EC) is directed mainly through two
channels, the Structure Funds and the Framework Programme.

Torbjörn Larsson has
- mainly
been working with the 5th Framework Programme
- been
working as an evaluator of RTD-proposals on behalf of the Commission
(4 times during FP 5)
- been
formulating and giving opinions on proposals to the Commission
- written
an EU-guide (in Swedish) for SMEs (1999).
A RTD-proposal to the Commission will rather be extensive. The proposal
will normally come from a consortia with members from several European
nations. It could be of some advantage to also include a consortia member
fromthe nw members..
The proposal
is to be sent directly to the Commission in Brussels.
In the current programme (FP 6) the Commission is encouraging more "Integrated
projects", which will normally be quite substantial regarding both
the number o consortia members and the proposed constribution from the
EC.
Evaluation experience
Sound Around AB and Torbjörn Larsson has, since 1999, been participating
four times in evaluating RTD-proposals on behalf of the EC. Evaluation
procedures can sometimes be cumbersome - but always rewarding as you get
to know other evaluators and you are fulfilling an important task within
the European Society.
